Contrary to the first installment, which faithfully adhered to historical realities, Conflict: Desert Storm II - Back to Baghdad takes place many purely hypothetical events - not reflected in reality. The player takes control of a four-person squad of soldiers operating behind enemy lines, performing extremely dangerous missions, usually surrounded by government secrets. The second part of the tactical shooter series takes players back to the 1990s and allows them to take part in the events that took place after Iraq's attack on Kuwait, which started the First Gulf War.
